So my first appointment for my sleep study there was some kind of mix up on their part and no one showed up. The lady apologized and said I have lots of time to get it done and maybe try 4 months into my 6 months in. I hear a lot of people get delayed because of this sleep study and think I should get it done sooner. I don't want to add additional wait time to these 6 months if I can help it. Any thoughts?

I would try to reschedule it at the next (and soonest) available date. The fact that when i went to my second appointment that i already had my sleepnstudy, endoscopy, proof of six months structured weight loss program, psych evaluation etc already completed moved me along at lightening fast speed. I began my journey Oct. 31. I was sleeved on Dec. 23.

Everyone is different, but personally i wanted to be sleeved as soon os possible because my mind was finally in the right place and had i have waited i might have gotten cold feet or allowed the process to drag on and on.

I agree. My insurance like everyone it seems requires 6 months for approval. Diet and requirements etc. I can't wait. So excited. I'm sure I'll be nervous but I am jumping in feet first. I so want this. Thank you for your advice

Out out all the hurdles to jump this was the most problematic. I would estimate 3 wk push back. From sleep study, my doctor getting the results, my dr diagnosing me with sleep apnea, scheduling cpap sleep test, going to test, dr getting results, referral to local dme to get cpap, getting a cpap.

I recommend starting this process at 3 months/4 month max. Good luck, I'm scheduled 3/14.

The sleep study put a stall on things for me as well. I called every day to check for any cancellations. Ended up paying off! If getting in is not an issue, I would just get it over with. For me personally I had to take equipment home and go back the next day to go over results.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
