Berry 0 Posted March 30, 2007 I've eaten poached eggs before but never a soft boiled egg. I'm on my 11th day of post-op and have had runny mashed potato but I thought maybe I could try a soft boiled egg. Will that go down easy or is it a chew, chew, chew item?? juliegeraci 7 Posted March 30, 2007 berry, yes it should go down easy. I can't eat scrambled but I can eat soft or over easy. Good luck.
TerriDoodle 6 Posted March 31, 2007 I haven't been banded yet, but I can't figure out why people should have problems with eggs...in any form!? I mean, they're soft! ...just can't figure that out....
Wheetsin 714 Posted March 31, 2007 eggs hurt me. The only way I can do them w/o pain is over hard. And they have to be "real" eggs. The processed eggs that you get in some restaurants or cafeterias -- uh uh, Sticksville!
Wheetsin 714 Posted March 31, 2007 but I can't figure out why people should have problems with eggs...in any form!? I mean, they're soft! ...just can't figure that out....There's a LOT more to it than just being soft. Honestly, IMO how much you swallow at a time and chewing habits are most of it. It doesn't matter if something is a hard food, if you chew it right it doesn't stay hard for long. (Umm, that sounds weird!) Soft foods are what give me the most trouble. Bananas, applesauce, eggs - ouch. chicken breast - no problem.
LeeInDe. 0 Posted March 31, 2007 I found that anything with any consistency to it, (not chewed to a pulp) got stuck. eggs were one of them. Soft is not the same as chewed to nothingness! I have learned along the way to chew, chew, chew!
HarleyNana 10 Posted March 31, 2007 I'm over two years out and still don't eat soft or hard boiled eggs, I do well to get a few bites of scrambled down, even with chewing, chewing and small bites. My band is very particular about a few foods, which includes eggs.
