purplegerber 29 Posted February 26, 2014 I went to the dr for my two week post op she said I was doing well but she emphasized how I needed to exercise. Does anyone know any good exercise DVDs that may be appropriate until I'm cleared to go to a gym in another three weeks.
Tikvah 70 Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) I would start by walking around your block. How are you feeling as far as energy levels? Build your way up. Edited February 26, 2014 by Tikvah 1 CoffeeGrinDR reacted to this
Dr-Patient 830 Posted February 26, 2014 Just walk for now. My initial "walking" was simply going into big stores--Super Target, Walmart, Publix, Sam's, etc-- and, holding the cart, I just walked every aisle, every aisle.
Teachamy 1,042 Posted February 26, 2014 I count grocery shopping with 2 kiddos as exercise! Also if you have TV "On Demand", there is a fitness channel that has various exercise options for free. You might also check out videos at your local library.
purplegerber 29 Posted February 26, 2014 I have been exhausted. My energy level is pretty bleh. I have gone out grocery shopping a couple times but she wants me to raise my heart rate to 120 for 20 minutes. My entire area is completely covered in snow. I was just wondering if anyone really loved some easy workout.
magtart 603 Posted February 26, 2014 Some of the Leslie Sansone walking videos are available on You Tube for free.
McButterpants 2,846 Posted February 26, 2014 I walked - I walked a lot thru week 6. I didn't feel comfortable doing much more than that. I got tired easily, so I stayed on a trail close to home. I slowly built my endurance up while still allowing me to heal.

Nell65 44 Posted February 28, 2014 I got the green light to start walking 9 days post op. I went straight to the gym. I have been going daily since last Friday. I logged in 13.72 miles in a week-slow start but I will take it. I average about 3.5 miles a day total.
