Hi all,

I'm new to all this, starting my pre op diet 2nd March 2014 for 5 weeks. As sad as it sounds i'm looking forward to it.

My op is booked for the 7th April 2014.

After talking to people and watching programs and reading up about Gastric Bypass,,, im dreading the fact that my skin will sag A LOT.

Is there any thing I can do to stop this happening so drastic.

Many thanks

hi need to slim, first I have to say this you have to do your pre-op for 5 WEEKS??? Holy moley!!! I have to do it for 2 and I have heard of some that just do it for a day and not even at all??? Wow, I am in shock. So anyway to get to your question. It all depends on the person, if your skin still has the elasticity still there it will go back better, but if you've stretched it out so much that you will have a lot, a lot??? Then I suggest doing weight training and exercise as much as you can, cause that will help with the skin tightening. Unfortunately no matter what we are all going to have saggy skin cause of the rapid pace at which the bypass helps you loose that weight. I am just thankful my insurance will allow me the skin removal surgery after the fact. So one day at a time though!!!

Hi Tina1577 Thanks for the reply. I guessed id have to do LOTS of exercising... All though I have been a big person all my life I am pretty fit (by my thinking any ways lol)... Yeah in England you have to do the pre op for the amount of weeks before surgery dependent on your BMI. Im having mine done through the NHS.

They will do skin removal later on if it is a matter of health, other wise ill have to find it my self :(.

Yeap I agree one day at a time... Thanks
