I had my VSG Dec. 4th. Stuck at 40 pounds x a week now. I've had 3 stalls, each lasting a week, which was annoying, but part of the process.

I am totally enjoying the clothes I've had to dig out, that I can wear again; finding stuff I forgot I had. I am open to being more sociable. I need to find a man, and now, with less blubber, will have more confidence when attending this or that.

BUT... yesterday I wanted something different to eat, so [groan, alas, crap!] I went to PF Chang's. Ordrered the Dynamite Shrimp appetizer. Today: I'm up 2.5 pounds, to 219, when I'd fiinally gotten down to 216. LOL. Oh well. back on the horse today.

I have not been exercising with any regularity at all; need to do better with that for sure.

I miss cooking lots of food--full meals--and I fear that my spices, marinades, etc., will expire before I use them. No biggie; but for a person who loves to cook/eat, it's a noticeable change. But then again, so is my dress size! SO...here I am.

I had a businesses lunch yesterday and I barely ate because I was full quick but then the meetings lasted all day and I had over and hour drive home..half way home I stopped and got a chili cheese burrito from taco bell..I started by just kinda slurping out the insides to take the edge off..but then ended up eating the whole thing:-0...within a couple hours of getting home I finished my leftover salmon and mashed potatoes from the lunch and before bed I had a protien bar...felt guilty and disgusting but I was never full..and honestly..hungry while I was eating..hopefully just a freak occurance because the meetings went so long but I'm gonna do liquids for a couple days just in hopes of the reset button ..

Hello I'm 3 weeks out and I'm wondering what are some food restrictions down the line. Of course this is a lifestyle change but just wondering will ever be able to eat a potato chip or frozen you hurt?

Just an update..not really hungry at all today ..had a shake and been sipping my water...I think I was just completely out of my element..and possibly was mistaking my thirst for hunger..because now that I think about it I had only got a few oz of Water in during my afternoon ..

Yea..Tiffany..you can and probably will..bur obviously shouldn't..on Superbowl Sunday I had some tortilla chips..like 5...other than thatI have to stay away from them because like others have said..they do not make me full. Idk abt frozen yogurt..I have sugar free pudding pops for when my cycle comes...I eat them sparingly..

I'm 9 weeks out also and wish I had more restriction. Eating out usually is better. I get fuller and stay that way longer. At home sometimes I feel like a bottomless pit.

This weekend I went out for dinner and drinks. drinks really add up the calories and three days later I'm still working off the gain. I was .6 away from fifty lost and gained three pounds. I'm sure a lot of it was salt and not enough Water but geez!!

I'm back on the horse too. Sipping my Protein shake as I type this.

I'm at 9 weeks myself and am down 69lbs since surgery date (12/18).

My restriction is still there when it comes to dense Proteins, so I try to eat that. I've had some pretzels that definitely slide through the sleeve much quicker. A fruit that I've come to enjoy post-op due to not only being a treat, but giving some restriction, is Mandarins/Clementines. Delicious and only about 40 calories per each one.

Honeymoon is never over as long as you are working your program and losing weight!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
