ShayLove 40 Posted February 26, 2014 I had my surgery 8 days ago and I'm having problems eating. I tried mash potatoes, a scrambled eggs, soupy grits and more but I can't seem to get them down. How am I to transition?
Catherine707 253 Posted February 26, 2014 Your new stomach may not be ready for the pureed foods yet! Go back to the liquids for a couple more days then try again. Also you might ease into it with Greek yogurt and cottage cheese, they are both pretty easy to digest.
Unbesleeveable 110 Posted February 26, 2014 Have you been cleared to eat those substances yet. It may be entirely too much too soon for your stomach to tolerate. Best wishes to you

jerrylauren50 0 Posted February 26, 2014 I suggest that you should go back to liquid, for the starting two weeks you must continue with the liquid diet, then you can go with the some mushy food like mash potatoes. And have them in a 4 or 5 parts in a day..eating a lot in just one time is not good..
Teachamy 1,042 Posted February 26, 2014 Try just a tablespoon or 2 at a time. Your main source of protein/calories should still be Protein shakes. You transition by eating very small portions to remind your stomach what it's supposed to do. But you are still healing, so give it another week before you try eating a quarter cup at a time.
