Need more info? Can you fill in your profile with a PC?

Need to know starting weight? Weight Lost? Stalled? Surgery date? Date of last fill? It's hard to advise or recommend anything without some profile info?

But what are you depressed about? Your weight loss, personal issues, etc. We can't help if we don't know what you are depressed about.

Are you feeling that way because you need to get some sun? Sometimes lack of sunshine during the winter causes people to get depressed. But most of us are not doctors, so we can't give medical advice. If you think that it is more drastic than sunshine, see your medical team. Best wishes, you seem to be doing a great job! Karen

Depression is a serious matter, it would help to know more about your situation - for instance: Why are you depressed? Why did you have weight loss surgery to begin with? Do you have someone to confide in? Whatever the cause, the bottom line is that you should speak to someone about how you are feeling. By all accounts, losing a substantial amount of weight in a relatively short amount of time requires lots of adjusting and going through various emotional/psychological stages is a part of that process. There is no set amount of time that a person takes to go through these phases, everyone is different so no one can tell you that the way you feel is right or wrong. I will leave you with this: I hope that you didn't walk into this lifestyle with unrealistic expectations and I would advise any newbie reading my post to work towards your goal with the intent to create a better quality of life. If that's what you achieve from this journey then you are successful. Yes, you can expect more but the world isn't going to pause when you walk out of your front door in the morning; you will still be you...just healthier and hopefully happier.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
