What do you eat?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering what most of you ate for each meal to ensure that your baby is getting enough. For example did you make sure to have a shake daily because it's so protien packed? Or did you find something else that worked.. TIA

I'm still on puréed food. Still trying to find a Protein Shake that tastes good. I find the PS's I've tried are pretty nasty. My puréed food is Stage 1 baby food..

I eat whatever tastes good... I had so much trouble at the beginning getting anything down that they wanted me to eat whatever I could keep down.

Honestly- I was so sick for so long (I had/have hyperemesis) that I was told by my surgeon AND OB to eat whatever stayed down. To try to focus on Protein first, but eat whatever would stay down. For me- this was a battle as one day ___ would stay down and the next day it wouldn't. Baby is growing right on track and is a little above average (he's measuring about a week ahead). My Vitamin levels have been great- my Iron did dip a little, but it is barely under normal.

Were any of you pregnant before wls to be able to compare to then and now? I have twins at home and I had a pretty miserable pregnancy was swollen like a balloon puked the whole way thru even got worse right before they were born. Im wondering if this time it's going to be worse than that because I was hoping weighing so much less it would easier...

Both pregnancies before WLS were a dream. No issues at all normal morning sickness for a few weeks but otherwise great pregnancies. This one has been VERY different.

I have two previous kiddos from before surgery. I was lucky and had easy pregnancies and labors with my two previous. I honestly think it is just "luck of the draw".

So I guess time will tell.. I'm more worried I guess like most are about the weight gain.. Does it make any sense to try not to gain weight? Because then when u give birth you will be smaller than what u started??? I'd love to maintain my weight thru out just made it into onederland and would love to never see a 2 in front of my weight again..,

If you are still obese you technically do want to maintain your weight rather than gain, if overweight I think they recommend a 10-15lb weight gain. Those recommendations are the same surgery or not. I will say- I have only gained 7lbs at 30weeks. I was at the top end of normal weight so my doc wanted me to gain no more than 25lbs. If I keep gaining a pound per week- I should wind up around 15-17lbs gained. I'm perfectly ok with that. (I did lose 13 from Hyperemesis so my net gain may be 5-10lbs)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
