MarianLA 0 Posted February 25, 2014 I have not seen this posted anywhere else. I had Gastric Sleeve surgery on 2/5/14. I did lose 25 lbs prior. I have had psoriasis all my life in varying levels of lesions. Probably was at about 70% involvement as this is winter and the usual time for me to flare. Post op, very quickly I noticed my skin was improving. So much so I even thought my surgeon gave me steroids and I was worried for the rebound, but not the case. I continue to improve, I am at about 20-25%, with significant improvement! Any one else experience this after wls? I have lost 50 or more pounds in the past and have never ever had this type of response.

Schmincke 118 Posted February 26, 2014 Many (but certainly not all) bariatric patients experience improvement of autoimmune diseases after surgery. What a wonderful side effect!
