msjoy83 42 Posted February 25, 2014 Ok try to keep it simple and quick. I'm at the pre dawn stages of setting up for surgery go to my consultation next month, if the insurance people have done their part my then. I'm also in the pre dawn stages of an adoption with a little girl from my island (Commonwealth of Dominica). My question is this should I hold off on surgery until after the adoption? I have this gut feeling the baby and surgery will be around the same month.

RJ'S/beginning 5,358 Posted February 25, 2014 First of all congratulations on your upcoming adoption..! You must be very excited to have this new addition in your life and worrying about the two events crashing together is a possible problem. While the majority of people fly through this surgery. It is smart to think that something may not go as easily as for others. Do you have a backup plan in case. Will your family help you if something happens to set you back? I think you are a wise woman to consider all the angles and if you have any doubts you must explore the help and support aspects around you. Both are so wonderful it is difficult to, no...I think the adoption is marvelous! See what you have around you to help you in these two areas if something does not go well..... All the best to you and your future!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kaysp 14 Posted February 25, 2014 I would get thru the adoption, as has been said there could b some minor comps & that may make it hard to give the baby the attention he/she needs & you will want to give! Congrats!

Congrats! Thank you I am honestly taking everyone's advice into serious consideration. My 13 year old is so excited, another concern I know I will have out of pocket cost for the surgery. Think my final decision will come as to which is done first, because they are both literally starting within the same month...
