Temperature Regulation issues?

Recommended Posts

I'm 3 months post-op and since surgery I have had this weird thing about not being able to find the right temperature for my bedroom at night. I usually like to have a fan going, but lately I am switching between fan and heat every few minutes. It drives me crazy! I just can't seem to get comfortable at any temperature anymore. I am usually pretty OK with sleeping in a cold room, but I seem to be hypersensitive to both cold and heat now.

Anyone else have this experience?

I am also really cold! I have my jacket on all day and sleep with an electric blanket!

Ladies,

We've lost some insulation which once kept us much warmer. I know I'm using my little ceramic heater as I type this and I have a shawl wrapped around me. Before the surgery--I had NO problem keeping warm.

I also have times when I get too warm. I'm 49 and haven't had a period in a year now so that's not too unexpected.

If you're not around my age and experience getting too warm--I can only guess your body is going through such radical changes so quickly--it probably is having a hard time keeping your body temperature at a noraml range?

Hope y'all find your comfort level.

Kathleen

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
