JessicaE 7 Posted February 24, 2014 Hi, my name is Jessica. I am a married 33 year old SAHM of a 13 1/2 month old little girl and uterine cancer survivor. On Valentines day my MIL and I both had gastric sleeve surgery, so we are 10 days out. I am so tired of this liquid diet. Ok, the liquids aren't that bad. The Protein Shakes are atrocious and I'm not sure how much longer I can gag them down. I have always had a problem with "fake" sweeteners so I think the headache is from them. I lost 11 pounds in the 5 day pre diet surgery and have lost 14 more pounds. I weighed 286 before the pre liquid diet and am currently at 261. I have 0 appetite though I am always thirsty and am constantly sipping Water. I can't stand anything sweet right now and everything taste sweet, even water (I add lemon juice). Other then that, I feel fine. With a very active 13 month old I have yet to start my walks again, chasing after her takes it out of me. I have gone for walks but don't quite have the energy for the walks I was doing pre surgery (was at 2.5-3 miles at least 4 days a week). I miss eating, the taste of food, but I don't really crave it. I wanted sorbet so bad, had a bite, was done. My MIL had French fries today ( on day 10 - yikes) and the thought of eating them made my tummy gurgle in protest. Anyway, it has not been a pleasant week and a half but I'm sure things get better! My goal is 150, I have 111 pounds to go. 2 ProudGrammy and gmanbat reacted to this
LilMissDiva Irene 3,282 Posted February 24, 2014 Hello Jessica and welcome to BariatricPal, and congrats on your newly sleeved tummy! This journey will have a lot of ups and downs and you have only just begun. Take it easy, and for what it's worth, do not follow in your MIL footsteps. Avoid those types of food for as long as you possibly can. All the best to you! Hi, my name is Jessica. I am a married 33 year old SAHM of a 13 1/2 month old little girl and uterine cancer survivor. JessicaE 7 Posted February 24, 2014 Ty! So not going to be a problem, grease and I never really got along anyway bread, cheese, Pasta, rice - those are my main downfalls. I love chicken (only eat boneless, skinless breast anyway, though I do like them oven friend on occasion) and veggies. Honestly, I have always eaten fairly healthy. I just eat enough for 4 people in one sitting. Or ate enough. I'm not really doing sugar free Popsicles but I did find all natural lemon fruit pops with 70 calories. I can only eat half at a time and allow myself half a day now.

1Day1Life4Now 882 Posted February 24, 2014 Hi Jessica, Welcome to Bariatric Pal. It's a great place for support and information. I was sleeved on Feb. 10th so I'm just a 4 days ahead of you. I love some of the pre-mixed Protein Drinks but haven't developed a fondness for the powder though. I'm working on it but still having a bit of a problem. I started my puree diet yesterday and it seems to make it all much better because I'm eating real food... although it's pureed in the food processer. Yesterday I had pureed chicken and greenbeans. For lunch today I had tunafish with light mayo and a hard boiled egg put in the food processor. I do eat the ready made sf Jello and sf pudding. It goes down easy and keeps me from being hungry. Only 1 or 2 grams of Protein there so I'll start adding the powder to the kind you have to make. I eat either grits, cream of wheat or scrambled egg for Breakfast. Certainly more tasty than the shakes so it is easier to follow the diet. I bought the Weight Loss Surgery Cookbook for Dummies and it has helped me tremendously with ideas of things to eat that are "legal". I took this drastic step of surgery with the intention of being successful. I will not sabotage myself with "non=legal" foods. I wish you lots of luck. You will feel better... it gets better each day. You will get there. Congratulations to you and your MIL. You should be good support for one another.
