I feel like today is the first day of the rest of my new life! That great feeling overshadows anything negative about all liquids (so far. :) )

I took all my measurements last night and took time to gather all my necessities for work this week so I feel I'm prepared. Surgery is March 10th, barring any insurance issues. Good luck to all! Who else is a March 10 buddy?

Congratulations! I'm on day 6 of pre-op and doing so much better than day 1. I'm having my surgery 3/5 so I'm pretty close to you. It sounds like you have a great attitude...I'm sad to say I was super cranky on day 1! :)

I may be cranky after while when my family is chowing down on spaghetti. I purposefully chose things for supper this week that aren't my favorites, lol! Good luck to you on the 5th!!!

I'm March 10 too...and on lovely day one of liquids. I'm pretty excited, but almost more scared of these two weeks than the actual surgery. This weekend, I could not stop stuffing food in my mouth. I felt so bad about it, but just couldn't stop. I'm going to give the two week liquids my all, though...to give myself the best chance of a safe surgery. It's just barely lunchtime on the first day, though, and I already have a headache and feel weak. Yikes! Tomorrow will be better, right? Ok, one day at a time. :)

I didn't know my surgery date until after dinner last night! I got an email from my surgeon saying they could schedule me on March 10th if i can start liquid diet today! Well, of course i am ready to get this process going, so I told them definitely, I am ready....I am also away for a work related trip, so I am at a conference today that had Breakfast, mid morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack all provided...I am sipping my Water and Protein shake....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
