Wow! That's amazing! Congratulations!! I can't wait to have a success story like yours. I've been over weight my whole life. I was never "the skinny girl" and I never thought I'd be healthy. I'm so excited that I have this opportunity to do this.

Do you have any scars from the surgery?

you'll love it! It helps having awesome support groups, especially people your own age. I have some scars, just where they did the incisions. They heal over time, and unless you know what to look for, you can barely see them. I haven't worried too much about preventative measures because I know eventually I'll have to have excess skin removed anyway.

Yep, still pre op! My dr appt and psych evaluation is next week, then my education class is on the 26th. My surgery should be scheduled shortly after that, and since I'm self pay and I don't have to deal with insurance it should be scheduled quick. I'm guessing mid April! :)

:) I think you guys will like the sleeve. Had mine on Feb 24th. I lost 10 lbs on pre-op diet and I lost 12 lbs my first week. I am trying not to weigh myself everyday because it's so exciting. Lol but I know I have lost a ton more since then

Such a great job @@wwled! Awesome! I'm panicking waiting to hear back if I've been approved today makes 2 weeks that I haven't heard back from my doctor- am calling to see where I stand hoping my sleeve surgery will take place April sometime - started the progress in September (feels like 4ever ago!) I've always been happy in my skin as the big girl of the group but have longed to go "off the rack" shopping with my size 4 girlfriends! Now I know I won't be that small but I'm so excited for this next chapter in my life and hitting the racks! ????????????

Keep up the great work! ????

I'm just starting out on my journey. I'm 28 and have decided I can not spend my 30's like I have my 20's. Valuable youth was wasted on staying in while all my "skinny" friends went shopping and for fun nights out. But more than that I have a 3 year old daughter who is autistic and she is my world. I want to be able to run, jump, and play with her. So here I am. I'm on this and other sites non stop gathering info. I'm also totally being a creeper in Instagram ( I've prob started fallowing half of you already!)?i love see how everyone is doing and how much their life is improved. Makes this major decision a bit easier! My IG is. lei_mua. :)

I totally agree with you! I am 27 and I don't want to spend the rest of my life, I spent the past years-- on a yoyo diet. Not what I call an enjoyable life! Looking forward to new experiences that I won't have to worry about if I will "fit" on the chairs or what will I look like!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
