brittersmom 33 Posted February 23, 2014 I'm 9 months out and was admitted into the hospital for kidney stones and they gave me Shasta pop why I was in there. They knew I had the sleeve done. Is Pop ok to drink?
McButterpants 2,846 Posted February 23, 2014 The doctor I originally went to for orientation had the sleeve - he walked in carrying a diet soda and drinking from a straw. During the orientation he listed a number of things we wouldn't be able to do after surgery - straws and soda were on the list...We called him on it and he said, "It doesn't bother me". I thought it was a do as I say, not as I do moment. I have had a soda - an adult beverage mixed with Coke. (Please don't judge me.) I felt OK after, but I only had one drink and I nursed it and stirred so there was little carbonation. I would say the soda they gave you in the hospital was an oversight. fattie 53 Posted February 23, 2014 I drink regular coke at least once a week. It doesn't bother my sleeve as I'm 15 months out. I started drinking them at about 6 months. Now other sodas do bother my sleeve, I have no idea why. Dr. Pepper is the worst, it causes horrible gas and will not come up or go down for a long period of time. Everyone is different . It's up to you how you feel and if you want to try them.
