I am just now adding soft veg and fruit to my diet, per my Doctors plan, and I am just afraid of messing up.... I'd definitely wait until you're on solid foods. Protein bars can be pretty dense. Getting-used-to-new-me 119 Posted March 28, 2014 I'd definitely wait until you're on solid foods. Protein Bars can be pretty dense. Pookybear is right. You have to chew Protein bars even more than regular foods, unless you're at the point of having liquids with your meals. And that would be after you're on regular foods.
