Any Dr. Ashley Vernon Patients out there?

Recommended Posts

I have an appointment with her in May.

I went to the information session at Brigham and Women's but only Dr. Lautz was there. I really like him but can't get an appt. until mid June. Dr. Vernon wasn't there because she is out on maternity leave.

How is she? Did you like her? How is her staff? I'm a little nervous because I haven't met her.

Any information would be ever so helpful. :welldoneclap:

I had Dr. Vernon. She and her staff are great. Jane is awesome! As you know, she's out on maternity leave now but I understand she is expected back soon. I should see her again for my next fill. Good Luck you will be fine!

Hi Levi27, In case you haven't kept up with the other thread, I don't post very often because I cannot use my own computer and have to wait until I visit in RI. Good to hear from you and I see your great weight loss!! Congrats!! I finally was banded on March 6th at Beth Israel, Dr. Jones. I am doing very well. I have lost 19 lbs, but I hope to have a fill my next

visit to get a little more restriction. I felt like it took forever to get it done. I was the last one in the group from the get together. I am glad I got to see one of your posts. I figured out how to do the ticker but I cannot for the life of me transfer it to posts:phanvan

Hi Nana-

I'm not on too much anymore either. I have alot of things going on at home and I'm working alot of hours at work. I'm glad your surgery went well. You are doing a great job! My loss has slowed down because I'm not excercising like I should. I really need to keep up on that and watch what I'm eating. If I do those two things I would be doing much better. Maybe we'll get to see each other again if they do another luncheon. You take care and if you have any questions please feel free to send me a private message this way I get it. :)

Take Care

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
