Hi everybody

I'm from NJ and I'm in month #2 of my 6 month pre-op diet. I would like to know if anybody has been under the care of and had surgery with NJ Bariatric Center and how was your experience.

Hi everyone, I'm POD19 from my sleeve surgery. I'm doing pureed now although I still get comfort in my liquids. I'm honestly having a hard time getting my Protein in...and my liquids. Looking for anyone who is willing to be a friend during this process who understands how hard this ish is. :D :(

Hi DivineRN, What really helped me were my Premier Protein shakes about 30g of protein per serving really helped me get a good amount in quickly. I also kept a large bottle of Water with a natural protein flavor packet with me all day and sipped as much as I could! Lastly, greek yogurt, cottage cheese and pureed chicken pot pie were go to's. Hope had helps! The scale moving kept me pretty motivated during that time.

@@NoMoreWeightNJ I'm so happy that stage us over. I'm doing much better now that I'm eating food again. I'm able to get anywhere from 85 to 100 in Protein. Water is a whole different beast.

Hi everyone! I'm in central Jersey too! Did anyone have experience with Dr. Sowemimo or at CentraState? Still waiting on insurance approval, but I'm tentatively scheduled for March 7th...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
