Paigepatches 17 Posted February 22, 2014 Yes! I was surprised by this, but it happened lots right after surgery and still often now 9 days out!
Leepers 1,195 Posted February 22, 2014 I randomly have one big hiccup about 4 times a day. They take me by surprise and are really loud. lol. Usually I haven't eaten in a while.
sleepingarby 71 Posted February 23, 2014 I'll get hiccups if my beverage is too hot or too cold. Guess my "leashed dog" (a.k.a. stomach) only wants tepid drinks. Weird
MestizaBander 43 Posted February 23, 2014 I been having hiccups in my chest. At least that's what it feels like. I'm 8 days postop
Pepper28 82 Posted March 3, 2014 Eat a teaspoon of sugar. Not Equal, Not Splenda, but the real Emperial Sugar. Stops those hiccups in their tracks!
Mysticangel142003 7 Posted March 3, 2014 I have this too!!! Not all the time but once maybe twice a day! And I had them in my chest before too I use the old wives trick: hold your breath then take 3 drinks or swallow 3 times! Does the trick for me!!!
Chickie D 76 Posted March 3, 2014 I usually get them if I'm drinking too quickly. Could that be it?
fatty2hottie 57 Posted March 3, 2014 I usually get them if I'm drinking too quickly. Could that be it? I have noticed this too as the week went on. It happened when I accidentally gulped my Water.< /p>
Sharpie 3,306 Posted March 3, 2014 Hiccups are my stop signal.. but yours is probably from drinking too fast. At the early stages you have to be careful not to gulp or eat too fast. I still get hiccups if I eat too fast or don't chew enough. I usually have to stop eating... my surgery was a year ago. 1 fatty2hottie reacted to this
shondelrobert 12 Posted March 3, 2014 Hi I need some advice, I had my lapband last month and I am on regular food. I am always hungry and can eat like a horse.I try to stay on the right portions but I am still hungry. Can anyone give me some advice please. 1 2muchfun reacted to this
Chickie D 76 Posted March 3, 2014 Shondel - if you've not had a fill yet, it's perfectly normal to be hungry at this stage of the game. My suggestions are... ...be sure you're drinking lots of Water ...get in all of the Protein that your doc recommends ...get an appointment for a fill as soon as you're able ...just because you can eat like a horse, doesn't mean it's good for your band (it's not), you're going to have to find a way to deal with the hunger (I don't mean that in a rough way - like I said, being hungry at this stage of things is normal)
Pepper28 82 Posted March 3, 2014 @shondelrobert Your band was merely "installed" last month. What they don't tell us in the consultation is that it could take months to get to the restriction level (sweet spot) where your hunger diminishes and your not able to consume the same volume of food at one sitting. I'm 7 months in and countless fills later and I "think" I've finally made it. It's been a long road. Some only take 1 fill, some 4, some 10...Restriction with lap band you have to sneak up on it, it isn't immediately out of surgery. If I were you, I'd stick to chickens and meats and vegetables for now. Stay away from sliders and junk foods that you can eat a lot of because they're filled with the most calories and will cause weight gain. Right now any weight loss will be from your very own will power and discipline. 1 2muchfun reacted to this
