Wendydarling19 310 Posted February 22, 2014 Okay so everyone's stomach growls when they are hungry. I'm just curious if this ever goes away with the band. I'm not saying I want it to go away and I'm not saying I don't want it to go away I'm just wondering if it does the more it is adjusted. 2 kll724 and PrettyThick1 reacted to this
kcgal62 133 Posted February 22, 2014 I've been banded 4 months. My stomach still growls when's its empty. I think I hear more from it now then before. Maybe I didn't always let it get truly hungry before! 3 chasingadream, Debbie3sons and PrettyThick1 reacted to this
kll724 3,055 Posted February 22, 2014 Oh, I have been embarrassed at times from the old stomach growl! It does go away, thank goodness! Some people never get hungry, too! Not me, I still get hungry, which according to my doctor, is head hunger; I don't know about that! Anyway, back to stomach growling, it will subside and then go away,,eventually, but not sure how long mine lasted. Sorry, no definative answer, there. Karen That's okay for no definitive answer I'm just curious. Mine does also get super loud and I often burp from it. I just can't help it! I really only eat now when my stomach is growling ( or at least try to) 2 chasingadream and Debbie3sons reacted to this
LenRen25 58 Posted February 22, 2014 I'm 11 mos. out & my stomach growls when I'm hungry....much moreso as of late, since putting forth more diligent effort. I try to wait for the growl and use it as a guide to know when it's time to eat, instead of giving in to my "head hunger." For me, I find it a reassuring reminder that I'm finally waiting long enough in between meals instead of just eating whenev I want, regardless of true hunger. 2 chasingadream and Debbie3sons reacted to this
chasingadream 1,311 Posted February 22, 2014 I must admit, I LOVE when it growls these days...lol. For me, I was a constant food grazer pre-banding so I never really heard it before or ever let it get to that point...so I like to hear it....it reminds me of my choice to have WLS and reminds me that I will not wither away or perish from malnutrition if it growls for a few minutes....lol I try not to eat after dinner but at night it makes all of the weird noises that sounds like gurgling and growling but I'm not hungry. Im getting used to it and my hubby just looks at me and laughs now as we try to figure out if it his stomach or mine making the alien noises! 2 LenRen25 and Debbie3sons reacted to this
PuraVida37 715 Posted February 22, 2014 Mine growls a LOT!! I try to use it as a reminder to drink, instead of eat.
Cat225 93 Posted February 22, 2014 Mine growls, too, sometimes really loudly! It's somewhat of a new experience for me! Lol. Sometimes I see it as a sign that I need to eat something. Other times, I ignore it and drink some Crystal Light and it goes away.
Lady VS 1,147 Posted February 23, 2014 (edited) I'm three yrs post op and my stomach does not growl as I've read many others here does. Don't recall when it stopped. Edited February 23, 2014 by Lady VS 1 Wendydarling19 reacted to this
SandyM 1,956 Posted February 24, 2014 Mine sometimes growls, but I notice it more after carbs...I'm thinking gas. I really don't feel hunger when it happens 1 Wendydarling19 reacted to this
simoneshirbet 9 Posted February 24, 2014 My stomach has always growled but it has definitely become a lot louder and more aggressive since I had my surgery. I often think if my stomach as a separate being who has an unquestionable desire to be the centre of the universe. It will growl at the most inconvenient of times, and none too quietly. At university during an exam. Meeting a guy my friends have set me up with. During a heartfelt, and quiet, scene at the cinemas. It wants to be heard by one and all. I hope for your sake that your stomach rumblings aren't nearly as bad as mine and that they disappear completely with surgery but everyone is different. 1 Wendydarling19 reacted to this
PrettyThick1 1,860 Posted February 25, 2014 Ahhhh...the joyful sounds of banded life. If it's not butt trumpets, it's the screeching baby eagles or the tune of a sink draining in our bellies. 1 Wendydarling19 reacted to this
