They tell you not to even wear nail polish as they put a heart monitor on your big toe and finger.
I didn’t wear anything and wouldn’t want too imagine waking u after they have tapped your eyes shut and stuck tubes in your mouth a oxygen mask and its all smeared all over your face lol
So much for looking pretty!

They ask for no make-up or perfume or lotions in effort to preserve the sterile environment in the OR and to reduce the risk of infection via introduction of bacteria ... I say If it makes you feel better and the anesthesiologist does not oppose it.. ROCK ON

The sterile field is no where near your face... you seriously can wear makeup. Nail polish will not interfere with the oxygen saturation monitor.... false nails sometimes make it difficult to get on 02 sat if they are really thick. Personally, I wasn't going in to the hospital looking like a crazy person, I used to work at the hospital I had mine done and you bet I ran into a dozen old colleagues during my stay! Bad enough I was 60lbs heavier since the last time they saw me. If you really want to wear makeup I say go for it.

I guess this is yet another case where the rules are different. My directions were no make up, moisturizer, deo, powder and no polish on fingers or toes. I did wear clear polish though and no one objected. I guess you will just have to ask about the policy where you are getting sleeved.

Just wanted to tell everyone that I had surgery yesterday and here's the scoop lol! I wore "bare minerals" foundation powder one circular all over, and "bare minerals" blush a small amount, one brush over and then I put a thin line of "bare minerals" waterproof eyeliner, and "rimmel" Water proof mascara , one swipe and everything went fine!!!! Yippee

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
