sassypants 674 Posted February 22, 2014 They tell you not to even wear nail polish as they put a heart monitor on your big toe and finger.I didn’t wear anything and wouldn’t want too imagine waking u after they have tapped your eyes shut and stuck tubes in your mouth a oxygen mask and its all smeared all over your face lolSo much for looking pretty! 1 gourmetone reacted to this
Unbesleeveable 110 Posted February 22, 2014 They ask for no make-up or perfume or lotions in effort to preserve the sterile environment in the OR and to reduce the risk of infection via introduction of bacteria ... I say If it makes you feel better and the anesthesiologist does not oppose it.. ROCK ON
gohelpyourself 377 Posted February 22, 2014 The sterile field is no where near your face... you seriously can wear makeup. Nail polish will not interfere with the oxygen saturation monitor.... false nails sometimes make it difficult to get on 02 sat if they are really thick. Personally, I wasn't going in to the hospital looking like a crazy person, I used to work at the hospital I had mine done and you bet I ran into a dozen old colleagues during my stay! Bad enough I was 60lbs heavier since the last time they saw me. If you really want to wear makeup I say go for it.

reading mom 85 Posted February 23, 2014 I guess this is yet another case where the rules are different. My directions were no make up, moisturizer, deo, powder and no polish on fingers or toes. I did wear clear polish though and no one objected. I guess you will just have to ask about the policy where you are getting sleeved.
