AmyRN09 28 Posted February 21, 2014 hello all. I have lost near 100 pounds since my surgery June 18th 2013. While I feel great there are other parts that don't. To make a long story short I went to my ob/gyn and he did some tests, took some blood and turns out I'm estrogen deficient. I am 27 years old. Not even near menopause. Has this happened to anyone else? When asked what the cause of this could be he said stress but when I asked if it could have anything to do with weight loss he immediately wrote it off. Catherine707 253 Posted February 22, 2014 I would talk with my surgeon as they are the experts in WLS and any potential side effects. The good news is that estrogen is easy to replace with synthetic hormones. Do you have any other endocrine issues? PCOS?

I posted on specialty forums regarding PCOS which yes I do have and I see a specialist. One of the top in the nation but no one has been especially helpful in telling me why this occurred. Including on here (except for you. Thanks for responding). I am a nurse I can do my own research but some of it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Just wanted some Personal stories I guess too.
