Yayyyyy the "shorties club" lol how much do you weigh?

I'm 256 and so ready to get this weight off of me. My nutritionist suggested I set my goal at 125lbs because of my height but I can't imagine being that small. If I get down to 140 I'd be over the moon!

See I'm literally at the border line at 200 lbs. Nurse said do not lose anything until my consult lol first time in my life I'm trying to keep weight on! I would love to be 140 that's my ideal though I know the bmi wants us at 125 lol can't see myself 125 either lol

Im sure you will get approved, they office knows how to deal with the insurance so leave it in their hands. I have the same thyroid condition and that lead me to diabetes, I was getting worse and even my kidneys were taking a toll. I had my surgery 2/11 and I am down 18lbs. Be positive, everything will work out. Best of luck!!!

Thank you, I'm super nervous about my consult and I'm scale obsessed to make sure I don't lose a pound. People around say "o you're not fat just chunky!" Excuse me but to me it's the same thing. 4'11 and 200 lbs size 16/18 bottoms and xl/1x tops is nowhere near my ideal. Just tapping my feet doing my consultation count down :-)

Keep in mind that they will use your BMI to determine if you are eligible. Uf you are 35 or over you should be good

I thought if you were not at least 40+ BMI then you had to have at least one comorbidity for lower BMI?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
