Body Dysmorphia GONE!

Recommended Posts

I guess a sign that my slight body dysmorphia is wearing off is that clothes look huge! You can't keep me out of the stores these days, I'm not concerned about losing much more and can feel better about buying a set size - thrift stores are still my faves, but I have begun buying new off the rack. What I've noticed is now that I realize I'm smaller, clothes seem to have gotten bigger. I grabbed a pair of pants in my old size and couldn't believe how big they were, I can fit BOTH of my legs in one pant leg! Dang!

That's awesome! Good job!. I remember when a girlfriend of mine told me I needed to go shopping. It didn't seem to me like I needed to but when we went out to look for clothes I had gone down from a 4x shirt to a 2x, and from a 46 jean to a 38. Now when I put my old clothes back on after being in the new ones for a while I feel like I'm wearing a blanket. :)

WoooooHooooo!!! I just bought my first size 14 today.... I took 14, 16, and EIGHTEENS in the fitting room. When I was in there and took the first pair, of course I naturally went for the 18- looked at it again and put it back...! It IS a great feeling knowing I don't have to even TRY an 18 EVER AGAIN!!

I've got a shell hanging on a line in our bathroom and I noticed this morning that it looks enormous. This was my little sleeveless thing that I'd put under a jacket or something else to cover up my belly -- and now it's so big-looking. Time for a new little black shell for those occasions and rather than something ending in an X I think it will begin in an X, like perhaps an XL. And if there is a god, maybe, just perhaps, I could possibly take off the jacket and allow those arms to be exposed one day. Maybe.

Awesome!

I was in the thrift store the other day--I figured that I should grab some things to hold me through until April, since I basically rotate between two pairs of pants and three hoodies (it's pathetic). I remembered why shopping is my mortal enemy--it was so difficult to find pants or shirts that worked. I thought some male long t shirts would do the trick, but nope--I could not find a single one (even in 2X) that fit me comfortably. I did manage to find one pair of stretch capris that fit, but at that point it felt like a miracle.

Between the way I look in T shirts now and sweating it out in hoodies, I think I may have to stick with hoodies until the summer hits. I can't wait until the day I can go back to a place like a thrift store or Target, and actually be able to select from a decent variety of stylish clothes.

I work in a clinic now and have to weigh my pts as they come in. I see ladies everyday that weigh around what I did. I'm amazed at how big I was. I didn't have a full length mirror or allow many pics. Now I do and can't believe how far I've come. When I say my weight, I find myself slipping and saying 174 instead of 154. Just not convinced that it's my true wt yet? Guess I haven't totally accepted it.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
