jennybean 175 Posted February 20, 2014 I have been reading some posts on here about some problems gulping Water. I have no problem gulping water down fast - AT ALL. Does this mean I am not in the green zone yet?
jammiebp 20 Posted February 20, 2014 I was the same way after a couple of fills. Now with a good fill I do have to sip Water and other beverages.
Bandista 7,466 Posted February 20, 2014 I just chugged down a 32 ounce bottle of Water with a splash of cranberry -- and it was cold, too (just finished exercising). My band is tighter in the morning but I can still do this. I'm curious about people's responses here -- whether this is an indication of not being in the Green Zone (which I know I'm not yet -- was supposed to go for a fill this week but postponed due to snow). 3 2muchfun, jennybean and chasingadream reacted to this
2muchfun 8,927 Posted February 20, 2014 I've pretty much been in and around the green zone for over 1 1/2 years and I've always been able to gulp Water. I've had a few episodes where it didn't go down quite as fast as I'd like so I've trained myself to take smaller gulps and pay close attention to feeling the flow as it passes from my pouch to my stomach. 3 Bandista, chasingadream and jennybean reacted to this
TLL 105 Posted February 20, 2014 I think I've been kind of teetering on the edge of the green zone for a couple of months now, and I have had absolutely no trouble with Water. I've always been able to take as big of drinks as I want or as much as I want in one sitting with no probs. 2 chasingadream and jennybean reacted to this
cheryl2586 3,053 Posted February 20, 2014 I can drink Water like a professional Water drinker lol. No problems gulping water. 2 chasingadream and jennybean reacted to this
Cat225 93 Posted February 20, 2014 I have trouble not gulping water! Sometimes I want to just down the whole bottle, but the nurse told me to only take small sips, which is very hard for me. The only time I've had a problem is when I've had a drink too soon after eating. A couple times it got stuck.

They never said to take small sips (only during the few days post-op). No rules for drinking Water slowly that I am aware of. I am going to ask them at the next visit to make sure I am not doing anything wrong. I gulp Water all the time . 1 2muchfun reacted to this

Cat225 93 Posted February 20, 2014 Hmmm, maybe I am mistaken? I just remember being told to go slow and small with everything. Maybe they didn't mean Water, too? It's hard to quench your thirst with small sips!
Cat225 93 Posted February 20, 2014 Jennybean, quick question for you! When did you get your first fill? How long did they make you wait? I am 3 weeks in, and think I'm ready already!
jennybean 175 Posted February 20, 2014 (edited) They will only do fills once every 4 weeks (NO SOONER...or so I am told. I have not tried to persuade too much) At this point of my schedule they normally go 6 weeks, but since I had bad swelling from surgery they are going extremely slow with me and allow me to come in at the 4 week mark still. They say sometimes it takes 2 weeks or more to feel the full effect of the fill. (My first fill was at the 4 week mark and I had to call them to schedule) Edited February 20, 2014 by jennybean
Cat225 93 Posted February 20, 2014 Yeah, I was there last week, and Debbie told me to wait until I'm 6 weeks out. I obviously feel some difference, because I am getting satisfied with much less food, but it's not as little as it should be. She said they will give me a fill when I am no longer satisfied with my portions and my weight loss stops. I lost 3 pounds this week, so I guess I'll have to wait.
