Ms. Laydee2014 9 Posted April 12, 2014 Good Luck - i'm so excited for you. I believe they'll be putting me on my pre-op 4-22 but i'm getting ready now. I've already stopped drinking soda and have cut back on sugar. Tried my first Nutri-bullet drink but that didn't turn out so well I guess I need different recipes (trial and error) for better taste. Proudmomma83 22 Posted April 12, 2014 Went home yesterday, later then expected because I had a big wave of nausea. So nice to be home with my little boy. My aunt has been spending a lot of time with us n I have needed that help! Pain is minimal it's the gas that causes most of my discomfort. Drain areas are a little tender but I expected that after the crazy pain of pulling them. (Owwwww). Trying to get in my Protein has been hard only because I don't feel like making anything I just want something I can grab n eat. My aunt Is going to purée some chicken today so hopefully that helps but I has a sf Popsicle for Breakfast lol. Any questions feel free to ask!
chanel1216 14 Posted April 12, 2014 Going through the same thing. Walking seems to be the only thing that helps with the gas build up. Also if the liquids are room temp they're easier to go down and you don't get the tight feeling in your chest as much. Feel like I'm sleeping too much tho and not getting all my Protein and Water in. Remember when eating tons was like nothing and now even a little bit is the hardest thing lol. I went home late afternoon yesterday, in pain, not to much bloating. All I have had to drink is water and my pain medicine. I havent felt hungry at all. Im having some left sided upper back discomfort, but besides that Im not feeling so bad. My mom and sisters stayed with me till I feel asleep. Im still sleepy now. Thats all I want to do is rest. 2 Harley59 and Sleeve4me! reacted to this
chanel1216 14 Posted April 12, 2014 I know the changes are sooo weird. I was never satisfied with the amount of food I would have now I get full on a small sip Of Water. Lol I feel like water & Protein goes down a lot easier if it's really old. I started my Vitamins today & took forever to get my multi Vitamin in. The flavor grossed me out but was easily tolerated before surgery. All the others were ok. I think I'll have to try a different multi vitamin this weekend. Are you taking the chewable vitamins
chanel1216 14 Posted April 12, 2014 I'm getting nervous about my two week preop diet. I keep telling myself I can handle it. Praying that I can. You can. They take your blood, you do a swallow scan, and you talk to your anesthesiologist

And rest is what you need to fully recovery. I sleep a ton but feel a little better everytime I wake up.

I am on full liquids and my surgeon said that I was not to progress to pureed until he sees me in 2 weeks. I had to smile about the drain that was weird - no one ever mentioned that before Good luck. Amy318 10 Posted April 12, 2014 I had my surgery yesterday and I'm back home on my sofa. I actually feel amazing! Sore, yes, moving a little slower, yes, but all things considered I feel great! I have had small sips of lemonade and broth and 2 sugar free popcicles. I'm hoping I sleep good tonight knowing the nurse won't be waking me up every 2 hours to take my vitals! Lol My instructions were clear liquid diet for 2 -3 days then gradually add fat free or 1% milk. I would not eat the puréed chicken either because it will make you sick!! Anyway, I've read bunches of posts on here with people who are having a really hard time of it and I was petrified so I wanted those of you who haven't had surgery yet that not everyone has such a hard time! Have a great day! God bless all of us recovering and those getting ready for surgery! 3 gixxergirl, pquinn181 and Harley59 reacted to this

Amanda729 4 Posted April 12, 2014 My surgery was on the 9th and I came home yesterday. I'm having a hard time knowing when or if I'm hungry and when I'm full. I'm having a hard time sleeping for more than 2-3 hours at a time! Other than that things are pretty good, not really in any pain!

jbank1274 6 Posted April 12, 2014 I just bought some more food for recovery. I'm supposed to start my 7 day preop diet Monday but I may as well start tomorrow. This Is Gonna Be The Longest WEEK Of My Life. My preop diet is 2 weeks long :-(. And I'm on my 2nd time. Anesthesia went haywire and I woke up with no lap band the first time, so now I'm on preop for April 22.
