I'm just over three weeks out from surgery and I haven't lost a pound in more than a week. I'm following my liquid diet, still, and I'm working out twenty minutes a day on the treadmill. My calorie intake averages around 600/day. What am I doing wrong? I'm so frustrated...

I'm sure by now , you aware of the infamous 3 week stall. Your body needs to readjust your metabolism. Stay the course and one day ( literally!) you will wake up and realize your pants won't fit and the scales drops. Don't expect huge losses , consistent weight is better for your body and skin in the long run.

What tracker are you using? I use my fitness pal for good intake and a Fitbit for activity tracking. It keeps me honest with myself and shows the correlation between activity , calories and my weight loss.

My guess is if you are staying "on program" you will have a very plea sent surprise next week! Good luck

I wanna see around 3-4 weeks I stalled and again at 12 weeks. Now 4 1/2 months out I will stall every other week it seems then drop like 4 lbs out of no where but... regardless of the poundage stall my inches are burning like mad. Maybe too much salt and retaining Fluid? Around your period? Pooping like you are supposed to?

Stalls happen and they are different for everyone. At 2.5 months out, I'm in one now. I'm only getting in about 650 calories/day and exercise regularly so it does seem strange to not be losing all of the sudden.

However, just like my last stall I measured my waist and I've lost an inch during the stall. That's at least reassuring that something is happening.

Have you been measuring ?

Third week stall, folks. Chin up, most people hit this. You'll get through just fine. :) just your body readjusting itself. Stick to your plan and don't despair.

Yes, stick to your plan and the stall will break, Between weeks 3-6 I lost only a 1/2 lb. the entire time. I was very frustrated and even went over what I had been eating with my NUT (I faithfully track my food and activity every day with Sparkpeople). My NUT said I was doing everything right (600 - 700 calories, 60-80 grams of Protein, around 50 grams of carbs and 25 grams of fat, 64 oz. of fluid) and to just keep it up. So I stuck with the plan and sure enough in week 7 I lost 5 lb. It was definitely a lesson in patience and persistence.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
