Best of luck, I have not been banded yet either, I go to Dr. Sidney, in Clinton. having a really rough time with BCBS, Have jumped through about every hoop there is to jump through I'm depressed, feel like i am all by myself, Oh! my husband is very supportive but I don't know if he realizes just how much I really want this and need it for health reasons. I'm 59 yrs, BMI 40, with morbid obesity health issues, and BCBS keeps asking for more and more. Dr. Sids. office has been very nice, they agree we have sent everything they have ask for and more, got my insurance brooker involved now, next step will be the lawyer,When first went to Dr. Sid. thtey felt it was a sure thing, don't know what happened, other than I am very discouraged, everyone says 'Oh! don't give up, but BCBS can really push ones buttons, thanks for listening,I usually am one of these who just love to read others posts, but tonight just had to put my 2 sence in, hope thats okay. My Insurance broker called at work Friday, says they pulled the last denile, and will go through it again on Monday, so we'll see, I just know the more they mess round the more depressed I get, and the more I want to eat, such a disappointment

Thor ,try not to get so depressed ,that is what the insurances do in hopes you will give up and forget about it.Keep a positive attitude and stick to a diet plan. The more you eat and gain now .Just means the longer it will take you to reach your goal once you get banded.Show them you are stronger than they think.KEEP UP THE FIGHT!!!!Penny

Terry

I am so sorry, but I can't make lunch again. I have a sick little one to check on and an errand to run. Sometimes the holidays drive me nuts because it seems like I'm always busy. I miss our get togethers. Maybe it will be easier after the holidays. Sorry. Kelly

Thats ok Kelly don't worry about it....I understand. I have plans with my husband today anyway. He is going to join Cardial Fitnes with me. I'm hoping we get a deal, since I've been a member for two years. I really need a push to get my but to the gym. I had gained 4 and half pounds when I got my unfill. :P

Thanksgiving and vacation did'nt help.

We are going to Walmart after that to see if we can buy my sister (who lives in joplin mo) an eye exam and new glasses for Christmas. She doesnt have much money and really needs new glasses. We are hoping to be able to pay for them at this end instead of sending money.

I'm sorry about your gain. I know how disappointing that can be. I had gained and lost the same 3 pounds up until a week ago. I'm glad you had other plans anyway. I hate cancelling at the last minute, but as a mom of 2 young boys, I feel like I have to always be prepared to change plans. So, I hope we can do it again soon. Have you heard from Jenny? I hope she is doing well. If I don't talk to you again before Christmas, I hope you have a wonderful holiday. It is really nice what you are doing for your sister. Kelly

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
