It says 3 grams. But I will stop to be on safe side. I don't need any delays on my surgery

I purchased the nutri bullet to help along the way. So far it has been a blessing. Not only do I add whey Protein and ice to my cup of berries, I also add brown flax seeds and spinach or kale. It blends up so well that you can hardly taste the kale! At first I thought it was going to be difficult going on this pre op diet but it isn't. I am starting it now so I will be ready when my INS calls and confirms approval! After reading all of the post; it seems as if most of our doctors have us on the same diet.

Ok. My doctor recommend sugar busters diet for pre-op. do you think it would be a good idea to do a Protein shake mixed with strawberries every morning for Breakfast? I'm considering buying a real nice blender so I can start making smoothies in the morning. I've also been taking adult gummi Vitamins.

Look at MagicBullet or Nutribullet for blender options. I bought two MagicBullets. One for home and one for work. The great thing is that they are small enough to travel with if you have to travel for work. I had to go for two days of client meetings and stayed in a hotel. I used the hotel ice, Protein shakes, in-room coffee and my MagicBullet to make my "breakfast" in my hotel room each morning. The blender comes with travel mugs and lids making it super easy and virtually no clean-up. I got my MagicBullets from costco which was cheaper than Amazon.< /p>

As for fruit, I have made shakes with blueberries, but just don't use too many. You still have to watch the sugar on fruit.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
