magtart 603 Posted February 19, 2014 I was on two meds, Diovan HTC and Metoprolol. My surgeon discharged me with instructions to discontinue the Diovan immediately. I still take one Metoprolol a day.
BladeFox 235 Posted February 19, 2014 I'm interested in finding this out too when I have my surgery. In the past when I lost 80 lbs., I was taking two meds and reduced to one after losing about 60 lbs. That was good but not great because I want to be off of them completely and I'm hoping that when I reach 100lbs of weight loss I will not need them any longer. Sassy Pants1 186 Posted February 19, 2014 I am still taking my BP med, but at half dosage since surgery. Is likely I will never come off due to my deep family history of hypertension. But a girl can hope!

macman 603 Posted February 20, 2014 I was on Lysinoprol and Hydrochlorothiazide. With the medication I would get to 135/85. The surgeon stopped my medications upon discharge from the hospital. On all my follow ups BP is mid 120/
