I haven't had oysters on the half-shell because I can't stand to chew them, but fried oysters go down fine.

I eat them often! All different prepared ways. I don't have them raw anymore....had a BAD experience with them, pre-banding.

Love them on the half shell with a great sauce. I am a 2 year vet. Finally tried last April. Loving them all over, the easiest thing to eat FOR ME.

NO WAY for me...I absolutely love oysters and clams on the 1/2 shell....last time I had one I felt it slide right down and PLOP! Sat right there!

I threw up instantly! Right in front of everybody at the raw bar....

Of course, everyone has there band adjusted differently, no 2 bands are the same, and have different restriction and reactions to eating.... so I cannot speak for others.....and I drink beer regularly with no problems...go figure.

Like anything, it is something you have to find out for yourself....and only you know your band...no one else...

I eat them all the time with crackers and sauce. I chew them well, though.

Wow- this is a great thread. I live in New Orleans and banded 2/18. Oysters are a religious experience- both raw and grilled and fried. Totally scared to try anything- so worried about getting stuck. Only in the past 3 days moved to egg whites, chili with Beans and saltines. Don't know what to try next but sure would like to do some oysters! I think if you had them on a cracker with the sauce it would be a combination that would roll through like the tuna on cracker I had the other day.

There are very few calories in raw oysters- I know a lot of people that diet on them- cray but true. I just wonder if I could try some Protein at this point like chicken or steak if cut into small pieces. I just have no clue what I can eat- distracting yet fun!

You really have to see what works for you. Everyone is different how food goes down. You are going to do a lot of throwing up. Which is weird it usually is not what you ate, but big bubbles of liquid, Or air. You'll figure the due and don'ts and it will drive you crazy. I went at food very slow. A lot of shakes. It drove me crazy

I could eat a piece of licorice, but not a small piece of chicken. You have to feel YOUR way. I'm 2 years, Look great, healthy, my priorities. We didn't do this to continue the bad road. I eat what I can eat. If its a couple of bites of each thing so be it. Big portions are gone and who needs them. Just let out band twice and starting to eat more adventurously. Good food. Can't eat a lot of anything and that's okay. Don't miss it! Started juicing to get more nutrients I was missing. Kinda like that. The weight comes off nicely the food a battle, a different one,

Katie, what do you mean by throwing up? Full on vomiting?

When something won't go down you get a pressure that has to go. It will make you let or get it up. Like I said, it comes up in my case anyway, like bubbles of liquid. I think until you get eating properly LEARNED, this is something you will have to deal with. Eating small, SLOW, SLOW, and chew, chew, chew, is the way you have to do it. I myself am still battling this after 2 years.

Now after stating that down part of the whole thing, I had quadruple By-Pass surgery, and was diagnosed with diabetis. Weighed 275 lbs. 3 years ago. Now, weight is 180, don't have diabetis, my blood work is utterly fantastic. Cholesterol is 135.

I eat a lot, NO, can I try anything to see if I can YES. If I follow the rule, if I don't I suffer. Is it worth it. Oh I forgot, feel wonderful, look great, YEH, love myself??? You bet!!!!! I just looked at your picture, you are half my age I bet. Oh, How, I wish I had been able to do this 30 years ago. Good Luck chat anytime you want.

Katie, you are so sweet. I am 45 years young!!! I wish I would have done this in my 20's when I started this gaining process. I haven't had anything get "stuck" yet nor have I had anything "come up". This concerns me. Maybe I am not tight enough? Or maybe a whew A LOT and make good food choices. Either way, I am terrified of vomiting.

Yesterday was a bad food day for me. I started off with a can of Amy's organic mushroom Soup, then 2 hours later was 3/4 of a ham and cheese sandwich, followed by a cheese and spinach manicotti, then around 6 I ate a small piece of boneless skinless chicken thigh, then I could't sleep so some girl scout Cookies jumped in the game around midnight. A VERY bad day. Today will be different. Starting off with fresh green juice (Organic cold pressed) delivered from juice Girl.

I will not repeat yesterday.

:)

That's fantastic on your eating regimen. You GO Girl. Your doing great! 30 lbs.

since DEC. that's wonderful. If you are doing this good and no eating problems your band is fine. And whatever else your doing. I think my problem from the beginning was I used shakes to much instead if learning the new eating habits. Which I am concentrating on more now. My big advice is make sure you get your total Protein and veggies for the day. If you don't it will affect things like your hair. I m having that problem now. And having to work on it. BEWARE

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
