Ladies....

Since I put on all this weight, I can no longer support myself in heels. I am wondering if losing a good amount of my excess weight will allow me to walk in heels again?

Good question BellaDonna. I have back issues, which has effected my balance and with all this weight I gave up heels some time ago. It would be a shame to have to give away all of those nice shoes I have.

I hope so, Thats my theory about why I used to be able to wear heels without a problem.

I am happy to say that I am able to wear heels again. I have lost 100 lbs since I started my journey. I was only able to wear flats before losing the weight.

I am down 52 lbs and will be trying some heels this weekend. I hope that I can! I haven't been able to wear them for quite sometime.

I love how heels look, but I am the worlds biggest klutz so I can't wear them.

Belladonna, our starting weight and goal weight are very similar. I am 8 month post-op and I wear heels everyday to work! You can and you will; and you will feel fabulous when you do!

THANKS Curvy! Did you have trouble walking in heels when you weighed over 200 lbs? I can't bear it at all!

I'll be honest...I was definitely able to, but I would HUNT for wide set shoes that had stretchy material, or special order. The heels never exceeded two inches, and I could manage that way. I just LOVE heels!

I was still rocking 6 inch heels at 280 lbs I'm a lot more graceful now that I'm 100 lbs skinnier.. You'll be ok

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
