Scorpion11 99 Posted February 19, 2014 Hello post-ops!! Congrats to everyone!! Keep up the great job!! I'm a November 14, 2013 WLS. Seeking advise on what worked for you, did you get weak/fatigue and Hair loss, Any suggestions!? My progress: WLS 11/14/13 5'7 Female 47yrs old. HW 268 size tight 20 SW 266 size 18 CW 233 size 14 GW 165 I'm averaging 2 lbs per week, no exercise due to knee injury/pain. Doctor is happy with my progress. I am too, my battle is to have enough energy to function upon getting up to get ready to drive to work and get through the day. Issues I've been experiencing feeling tired, fatigue and exhausted. I eat all my water/ meals/proteins/vitamins/biotin/omega fish oil and average 600 to 900 calories daily, try to eat more to get energy levels up, helps some days. I'm 3 months as of Friday 2/14/14 and I've started losing globs of hair especially after I Shampoo. So I'm washing every other day. I was expecting this may happen, but so emotionally distressing and nerve wrecking to see it come out so much so quickly. I'm totally freaked out. Praying it slows down soon. Anyone else feeling exhausted and losing your hair?? When goes the hair loss stop?? Is it growing back??! How long did it take??

Chele H 427 Posted February 19, 2014 Have you had any post op labs done yet? You may need extra Iron or B12.< /p>
BigGirlPanties 957 Posted February 19, 2014 Yes, I think EVERYONE needs B12, especially after the surgery...and I take Biotin to help with my nails and hair...but it's part of the process... your body is still healing. The fatigue thing tho should have passed by now, so I agree with Michele, that probably needs to be checked to see if you need additional supplements or something to help. I find that now that I am walking more, I am less tired/fatigued. You are doing well... it won't be long before everything straightens itself out; but always check with your doctor with concerns; especially when they have been going on for so long! Be well. 1 Chele H reacted to this
MzO 8 Posted February 19, 2014 I've always had beautiful nails that grow very long. My nails began to break off and became seriously weak around last month some time even though I take Biotin 5000mg. I have had great labs at 6mths post-op and find that some days I'm just more tired than others. For me, it may also be because I'm anemic but my labs on my Iron are great. I'm more carnivore, I love meat and maybe I'm getting most of my Iron from the meaty meals I'm eating. Make sure your taking your B-12 melts, try Biotin 5000 mg melts. I guess as quicker as my nails break they seem to grow back faster because of the Biotin. Once Mother Nature decides she not so pissed off with us, (14 snowstorms in 22 days) I want to start walking. I really have not done ANY exercising unless I count dancing up a storm whenever I put on a little music in my house. Continued success & blessings.
