Throwing up most everything I eat or drink.

Recommended Posts

I had surgery on jan 20/14 and all went well. I have been sipping and taking it easy but I still can't really drink or eat anything without throwing up massively. When I do try I get that lump in my chest then really bad pain and then my body can't take it and up everything comes. I am soooooo thirsty and dry, I just want something to stay down. I am dairy intolerant so it's harder to find things to eat. I can kinda handle warm tea, Jello, ice tea and some plain Soup crackers but that's about it. I am wondering if anyone else has been in this boat and if it goes away and what things I can do to ease the pain and help my body get back on track so I don't end up in the ER on IV. Help....

Ps, I've tried Protein Shakes, mushed up banana, soft eggs and apple sauce but nothing stays down.

Try a little juice with real sugar cut with Water. It'll be high carb so you can't get into the habit of it but it really helped me get liquids in early on. It just goes down and sits easier.

If you are throwing up everything you need to call your doc. Do you have nausea meds? do you have stomach spasm meds?

Please call your Dr. This is not normal. Do your best to stay hydrated. Suck on ice cubes. That's more important than eating at this stage.

I definitely agree to call your doc but please don't have anything with sugar in it ; this is bad advise. Also make sure to be following your diet plan and to measure everything and eat very slowly; use baby utensils and bowls.

When I do throw up its like egg whites or white foam. I have a Dr appt on the 26 of Jan and will make sure I ask her about it. I just want to drink Water as I love love water but I find that's the worst to drink.

I do have acid reflux meds and some gravel that has helped a bit but I am at a point that I just don't want to eat or drink. I know I have to.

I had my surgery November 8 and I do that, it's horrible :( I thought I was the only person. I call my doc and he says with my weight loss being where it is I'm fine!!! He did a swallow test and said it was normal, that is where you swallow a liquid (of which I have no problem with) I am at a loss!! The nest step I guess would be a ga doc

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
