At Disney on a trip with my job, and I've been able I find things to eat and I've been coming in on the high end of my daily caloric intake (which is ok because my pedometer has been logging between 15,000-20,000 steps).

What's frustrating me is I have no way to measure my food and no way to weight it. I've found that I'm eating until I am satiated but have definitely gotten to full a few times, but never uncomfortable or pain like the ONLY time I overate.

I generally get the feeling that I'm eating more than I should (full) but I am (AGAIN!) worries that I'm stretching my pouch. Are three full meals for a week going to irreversibly stretch my pouch.

A stretched pouch is a big fear of mine.

Advice?

It takes a lot to "stretch" your pouch permanently...don't be concerned about that.

I'm sure you are making healthy choices...eat what you think you should until you are satisfied and ENJOY your vacation...as we know, it's not about the food!

With all the walking you are doing, I'm sure you will balance out just fine... don't worry so much, just enjoy your time...everything will take care of itself, eventually!

Its pretty much impossible to stretch out your stomach. The surgeon cut all the stretchy part out. you would have to be seriously self abusing to do that. You would know if you were doing that. And your body will get sick before you could really do much damage.

Enjoy your vacation and relax.

Stretching the sleeve is not the proper way to defeat it. Eating non-stop.....eating more when you sense there is room...is the road to failure. That new stomach is pretty stubborn about it's shape, it's more or less a muscle not just skin. Muscles can stretch but it's pretty difficult and they only stretch so much.

Relax with Mickey! If you are in Florida you have a great day for it, I'm on my patio with Italian Dark Roast Keurig coffee with butter pecan Creamer, bare feet, shorts, listening to the birdies, watching the bicycle riders go by. This is a great time of year here before the advent of the steam bath. :D

Thanks everyone! That really helped put stretching into perspective for me. I gotta admit though I can't wait to get home to my scale and tupperware.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
