leslieam80 0 Posted March 29, 2007 Hello. I want to break the ice by greeting everyone and get some understanding the positives and negatives of considering Lap Band application, to help combat obesity and live a healthier life. I have thought about it and have been doing my own thing such as walking, light weights, but it is very stressful once I lose 4 lbs. and suddenly gain back 7 in a blink of an eye. My weight has been fluctuating, and I cut back on sodas completely. Next thing is the refined sugars. That is tough! Anyhow, I am very young, with two young girls and want to have the energy I use to. I live in East St.Louis, IL. Any suggestions where to go from here on informational seminars in or near this area? I still may have to cross the bridge to St.Louis, MO so please include that city as an option to. I am open to any suggestions and advice and hopefully I can make a informed decision. edieparks 2 Posted March 29, 2007 To be blunt , the most obvious is are you ready to NOT eat four pieces of chicken at once??? If you are not , the band is not for you. This is how I put it to people who ask me about it. What I am saying is , if you are not ready to give up eating large amounts of food the band is not a good choice. Now at 8 months I can eat a little of pretty much anything but not a large amount of anything . I am amazed at how long food hangs around. Before it would be gone in one evening. How many times has my hubby asked where is that strawberry ice cream ? I would say I ate it. I thought buying his favorite flavor would help me. Ha. Then I started buying for him and me. I would eat mine and..... well you get the picture. I know this isn't a nice post but very very honest. I am so grateful for my band. Now I REALLY REALLY eat to live not live to eat . edie
