Want to talk about a stall again?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm 9 weeks post op revision, I lost 25 lbs the first 2 weeks....that felt amazing!!

7 weeks, and not a single lb. down.

I'm starting to feel very frustrated, any suggestions?

Also, I add wheat germ into my yogurt daily, is that a mistake? Is it a free food?

R u exercising .. Ii am 10 weeks out and was at a stall for two weeks. I knew I had to exercise to get out of my stall. I do 30 minutes 4 days a week of medium strenuous exercise ( I do break out into a pouring sweat)and am taking swimming lessons. Once I started exercising my stall broke. I lost 3 pounds that first week of exercising and continue yo lose consistently.

How many calories and Protein r u ingesting. I am about 800 calories and 70 gprotrin. R u eating enough calories. Contact your nutritionist also. She can help.

Thanks so much for your reply!

I did join a gym, excersizing daily. Does it matter how much protein I'm getting? How is that related?

Protein is very important for weight loss and keeping muscle mass while u lose weight. Your dr office or your nutritionist should have given u eating guidelines for continue weight loss success. Find out this info quickly ,,u need guidance of what and how much to eat. If your doc/ hospital where u had the surgery does not have this info...the internet has tons of info of what to eat..getting in enough protein is a key cimponent to continued weight loss after the sleeve,

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
