Bandista 7,466 Posted February 17, 2014 Just know you're in good hands. There may be an issue with the amount of belly fat we lose and having the port in the more traditional above belly button left side is no longer being practiced in some places. Good luck to you on your upcoming surgery -- very exciting! 1 JOANNE M HOLL reacted to this
blondegal_ 1,028 Posted February 17, 2014 This is just me.... But I don't think I could handle the port on my chest. I'm not to goal yet but my collarbones now stick out. I still have boobs but there is not other fat in that area. A port there would be extremely noticeable on me. Would make me never want to show any cleavage. Lol. But like I said, that's just me and my two cents.
ldkappel 3 Posted February 17, 2014 Hi. I see that your surgeon is Dr. Christopher Smith. He is also my surgeon. I was banded on 2/12. I also questioned the placement of the port in the chest. His reasoning made sense. He gave me the option to have it placed in the abdomen if I wanted but I told him to go ahead and put it in the chest. I will tell you that the port incision is the largest I have and the most sore, but it gets better every day. Do you live in Albany?
delove32 91 Posted February 17, 2014 Congrats! I hope all is going well for you. No, I will be banded at his Tifton site. Did you get a low-profile port? How long did you take off from work? Can you see or feel the port? Sorry bout all the questions!!

the weight is over 8 Posted February 17, 2014 De love, we are getting banded by the same doctor.. I am worried about this too... I just don't want it there... I am sorry, I think this will be painful and show...it was explained to me that it would be easier for fills...I like to wear strapless and I don't want my port to show when I reach my goal weight.. I want to have faith in my surgeon however I don't know about this choice... 1 delove32 reacted to this

MestizaBander 43 Posted February 17, 2014 You're welcome! The cut is right under my armpit and it's not sore at all. It stays out of the way. I don't have to worry about pants rubbing against it either.

MestizaBander 43 Posted February 17, 2014 Wow.. never thought about it like that.. it was just soo out of the norm having it in your chest do u think it will stick out when u lose your weight? How did u do on the pre op diet ? was it the sugar busters? I don't think it will at all. I think it will be easier to hide too. I did pretty good on the sugar busters diet. I stuck with it and stayed under 1200 calories. I lost 12 pounds during preop and I even had pizza and Taco Bell one time during the diet. He said my liver had no fat on it. MestizaBander 43 Posted February 17, 2014 I had eggs and toast some days. At Walmart they have a 100% whole bread that is sugar free too. Natures own is the brand name. Sometimes I did old fashion oatmeal and cooked it in unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I would also sauté zucchini, tomatoes, and onions then pour scrambled eggs on top
