My Dr., would refer to this poster he has hanging on the wall, and ask me EXACTLY where I felt I was...not one of three, but on a sliding scale from left to right....

Then after a few more questions, he would also consider my weight loss since the last visit (if any) then give me a fill or not, and how much....

My Final fill, I was borderline Green-Red, in and out, then finally settled down in the Green....

How much you can eat isn't relevant. I can eat 2 cups of Soup but I can only eat a half cup of chicken or meat. The test is how long are you satisfied with a cup of food? You should be satisfied for 4-5 hours. If not, then keep getting fills till you feel satisfied with less food.< /p>

You probably need an adjustment. Call your doctor and discuss it with him/her?

Hmmm. I'm not sure about the answers. You don't necessarily need a full per say!. Yes please confer with your doc, but it does depend on what you're eating.

Example my nutritionist tells me Snacks, foods etc with 5+ grams of Protein will keep you full longer. So if I eat a cup of Soup and it's very little protein and not a lot of carbs I'm gonna be hungry in an hour. I was also told when eating balanced solid meals to eat my protein first then work around the plate leaving starch for last. If you aren't already, be mindful of your meals and planning. I've been banded 3 1/2 yrs almost and still get the growling stomach when I don't eat balanced, and I'm at full restriction right now. I hope this helps

Oh and let me also ad it depends on how active you are and how much calories you burn. I work out and weight train and have active days at work so your body requires more calories at times

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
