JillC878 59 Posted February 16, 2014 I am having the same issue. I have found that Vaseline works the best. I put it on right before going to sleep and before I leave the house in the morning. I use medicated lip balm in between. Hope you find relief!
able2cope 193 Posted February 16, 2014 It sure is horrible, and you feel conscious of it all day. In reality probably no one else notices, but it is definetly not nice.Hope that you find something to help soon.
Mama Spike 144 Posted February 16, 2014 Well, I really didn't think it was dehydration but I am sure another 16oz of fluids won't hurt me.
Revision12714 10 Posted February 16, 2014 I have had the same problem, made worse by a massive fever blister that abreva couldn't even stop. Abreva has ALWAYS worked for me, but not this time. my dry lips shouldn't have been caused by dehydration, because I was on a picc line infusing 3 liters of Fluid a day. I have gone through lots of lip balm, and thrown away a lot due to the fever blister. Now I am using Vaseline and applying with a qtip.

ElyQuint 446 Posted February 16, 2014 Iron deficiency will also cause this sort of "rash" its cracking in the corners with flaky red irritated skin. I upped the iron intake and use avocado oil to wash my face now and voila, no more cracks, rashes or acne! 2 Kay__S and deeangel reacted to this

I'm interested in the advocado oil - what sort of form is this in please? do you get it online? is it like a facial wash?
Kay__S 33 Posted February 16, 2014 That avocado oil intrigued me too. Great thread. I thought the lips problem was just me.
ElyQuint 446 Posted February 17, 2014 Its just regular old avocado oil from the health food store. I steam in the shower or hot wash cloth for 2 minutes, massage the oil all over the face, steam with the wash cloth again for 5 minutes. Once a week I repeat it three times to deep clean and hydrate. Pat dry. My friend told me about it. I didn't really believe it but I can't argue with the results. But I also upped my Vitamins 1 able2cope reacted to this
