I'm tomorrow at 1:30 pm. It's getting very real now! I'm soooo excited to start this next chapter of my life, but I'm nervous about the anesthesia and stuff. I get terribly sick from it so I hope I'm not throwing up all day tomorrow.

Good luck to everyone!!

Best wishes.. I was right there this time last week... and it is going to feel so good to be on the "other" side when it is all over. It gets better everyday. Who said this is the "easy" way out????... its FAR from being easy...yet SO worth it... and I am seeing my body begin to change already and its only been a week! You will do great :-)

Wishing you the best. I'm pre-surgery (don't have a date yet) and I'm oh so scared....but, I was walking around JCP yesterday and was so ill and hurting from being so overweight and I told myself "remember how bad this feels". I can't wait to just get healthy! You will do awesome. Please post about your experience later.

I have Surgery tomorrow the 17th at 11 AM!! A little nervous about the anesthesia, I have never been under so it's all new for me !!

I've been under for the removal if my gallbladder and an endoscopy. I was worried I'd hear or remember something but nope. Nothing but blackness then you wake up.

Good luck and I wish you we'll on your surgery and recovery. Keep us posted on your postop as that is my worry right now.

My surgery is Monday at 11:00am and I know where you are right now. What has helped me get over the jitters is to keep reminding myself why I decided to do this in the first place and what I can look forward to because of it. God bless and prayers for a successful and uneventful surgery and recovery.

Lots of good luck and wishing you well tomorrow!!!!

Thank you SuperFab and others for the encouragement. Getting ready to head to the hospital in a couple of hours but wanted to check back here to wish everyone good luck and prayers for a successful surgery. I am surprisingly calm this morning - hope it stays that way.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
