6 year bandiversary!

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! I've not been here in a while. Today is my 6th Bandiversary! I am down 70 lbs. and living at my goal weight for the last 3 1/2 years. My weight is pretty stable and I don't have to work very hard to maintain. I do get stuck from time-to-time, mostly when I take a bite that is too big, or don't chew well enough. You'd think I'd have learned by now.

Last November I got my first tattoo to Celebrate my battle.

I love and admire everything about you, but most of all your tattoo, because I don't think I could ever withstand even one second of the tattoo procedure!

Thanks for posting those pix. We all need inspiration... the more often, the better!

fantastic... looks like you were on a cruise in that 2nd photo... wonderful to see a long term bander doing well. I still get negative feedback about mine but I am extremely happy . 60 lbs lost . Best of luck to you and let us know periodically how you are doing.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
