Sex-yep, im going there...

Recommended Posts

So my surgeon told me no sex for 4 weeks. I never questioned it because hubby and I have a blended family and rarely have a moment alone. Now, we have found ourselves kid less for a night and I'm trying to figure out why we can't! I can understand staying away from force on my stomach but hey, there is more than one way to have sex! ;). Your thoughts? I'm 2 1/2 weeks post, by the way, and have no soreness whatsoever anymore.

Hey, you could make a cameo on that new TV show......."Sex Sent Me to the ER". LOL. Just kidding. (but there really is a show called that)

I could hear your doc saying..."what part of 4 weeks did you not understand"

OMG I have some awesome ER horrors of how sex landed ppl in the ER. Spent over 10 years as an ER nurse. Makes for good story telling.

Same here.

I cant remember how long we waited...not too too long but i know for thec1st week i just slept. When we did indulge we were very careful & mellow about it early on. Better safe than sorry!

I didn't really receive instruction, but it was probably 2 to 2 1/2 weeks. No real issues, but my abs felt like I did 100 crunches the next day :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
