Closest whole foods is on the other side of the state, or in Chicago. Buuuut, I gotta go to wally world tomorrow. I'll check it out.

.

I got raspberry, vanilla and hazelnut. Omg. Yummy. If you add raspberry to chocolate pudding it's delish. Or to vanilla yogurt. I'm just sayin.

How much of the flavor do you add to stuff?

Just a dash. And stir and add more. Lol. Not even as much as you'd squeeze chocolate into milk to mix to make chocolate milk.

They are delish. Also, if you like chocolate covered strawberries you can toss frozen strawberries into a chocolate shake, I used the RTD premier and blended them when I was on my supervised diet. No ice needed. The frozen strawberries did the job.

At first we can't have them Bc of the seeds, but I can't wait. Lol

Are you allowed to have fruit now?

I can't wait to go to Walmart tomorrow. Apparently there is a root beer extract, and when added to walmart a vanilla Protein drink, it makes it at taste like a root beer float. NEED IT.

You need to give reviews after I try it. No fruit for a very long time. Protein, veggies, fruit then carbs. My nut made it sound like I'd never have fruit and it bummed me out. But then it was explained in prep class.

I've found that Protein powder is only good in the chocolate or chocolate swirl puddings. Not vanilla. Not even vanilla if you freeze it. It's gross. Maybe if I add some Mio or raspberry. I'll try it again I'm sure.

I'm referring to sugar-free puddings of course.

Believe it or not, I literally can not tell on the chocolate except for the fact that after you mix it up, it's runny. So I set it in the fridge or freezer to let it thicken back up.

In the vanilla or dulce de leches it's horrid

have you tried EAS AdvantEdge RTD, they are not as thick as some of the others. The chocolate fudge and strawberry are my favs, but the cafe' caramel is also good.

If it's the milk like flavors that you don't like try Isopure Zero carb, there is a rtd and powders.

Also nectar makes many flavors of powder that are good.

I just can't stomach those Protein shakes, there has to be a better way .

I am not sure about pre op. I stuck to the directions on the canister. I just mixed fusion bariatric Protein Powder with the almond milk and a couple ice cubes to add thickness. I had surgery Feb. 3rd so I am like 11 days post op. I am doing pretty good thanks for asking. I had a bad day today. Nothing was sitting well except Water. I am still extremely fatigued but I have one more week off for a total of 3 weeks. Its hard to catch up on rest since I have a three year old who is a boss. :D

I'm def worried about the fatigue! Bless your heart... I'm sure this is difficult with a toddler. How much have you lost?

I started my pre op diet at 253 (10 days liver reduction diet.... cheated a couple times). On my surgery date (Feb 3) I was about 242. I haven't weighted myself today but yesterday I was 234. So nearly 20 lbs.

I got sick of the shakes fast and even now when I drink them (6 months) I get grossed out. Now I make Protein hemp muffins using vegan powders instead for protein light days. What about them makes you gag?

I absolutely love Hemp Protein Powder (I get the hi-Fiber kind). I have to start experimenting more with recipes that call for more plant based Proteins. I feel the best when I eat clean and stay away from as many processed, packaged things. That is why I am leaning more toward making my own shakes instead of the store bought.

Please share recipes as you find them. I love discovering cleaner more veggified foods! I'm going to experiment with making some nut cheeses.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
