One last appt before my surgery is scheduled!

Recommended Posts

Finished with all my insurance retirements with exception of my 3rd and final visit. Dr Wittgrove's office has been so supportive and we have decided to sleeve me late march early April! I must say seeing the psychologist was irritating. Not sure if it's meant to piss you off or if that particular psychologist was just having an off day. Anyone one have that same type of experience? Either way she passed me and I'm on my way!! A little scared, but really happy to get sleeved!

Starting weight 246 1/12/14

Current weight 250 2/13/14

Goal weight 160 !

So happy for you! I had a great time with the psychologist I went to, he was funny and we talked like pals. The only problem I have had so far is with family Dr but hopefully it all works out at my last (for the 2nd time) weigh in on Tuesday. Maybe we will be sleeved around the same time. I wish you the best of luck :D

I'm not going to let the psychologist bother me. I'm still really excited to get sleeved and start my new journey! I'm thankful that my husband is being really supportive as well as my children. They are my biggest supporters!!

I saw my psych today and we had a blast. She is really cool and down to earth. An old hippy chick. Totally passé me with flying colors. My last preop test is my stupid EKG And that's it! I hope to be sleeved late march or early April too!! I am 5'4 and 240.. My goal is 130. :)

Congrats! I just finished my last step this morning. I had a sleep study done which confirmed I had sleep apnea. Last night I had to do a cpap test. My doctor confirmed I will be scheduled within 2 weeks. Super excited!!

My psych appointment was pretty pointless... She just asked me if I was every suicidal and if I was sure I wanted to do the surgery.. I found the nutritionist and fitness instructor to really help! Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
