Pureed food ideas?

Recommended Posts

Good evening great sleevers! I am finally out of full liquids and was wondering what you guy are eating on pureed diets. Lastnight I had spaghetti pureed. It was great but really heavy on my new sleeve. Cottage cheese is good and so is a little bit of cream of wheat. Other than that I haven't had much luck. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! :)

I made a chicken quesadilla kinda while I was on the pureed stage... I pureed some chicken breast with a little fat free sour cream & a little bit of salsa added in to it & low fat shredded cheese. Puree all ingredients together. It tasted just like a quesadilla minus the tortilla!!! I could only eat a few bites of it but it was good & satisfying!

I saw someone mention this on another forum and tried today as I am day 2 pureed as well, and it was awesome. Small Wendy's chili, gave it a whir in my magic bullet. Done. So good. 180 calories , 13g Protein, 4g Fiber, 20g carbs. I couldn't eat the whole thing so it's not even that much. It was really nice to be able to eat something I like. I also did some fat free refried Beans thinned with taco sauce last night. Those sat a little heavy though. I'm allowed to have eggs as well. My Nut said that most people complain about scrambled but any other way is fine. I cooked one over easy this morning...best egg of my life after all those liquids and it sat just fine.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
