willjr4 15 Posted February 14, 2014 Hello getting sleeved on the 25th need some help with getting my liquids ready for post op. please give me the does and don'ts .
Recycled 2,182 Posted February 14, 2014 I wouldn't go out of your way to stock up on anything just yet. Your tastes might change post-op. Most Protein drinks are easily available at local stores. (costco, GNC etc) Your liquids should be fairly easy to get in each day. You might get some sugar free Popsicles, as they will fill in for something to chew and taste pretty good too. 1 willjr4 reacted to this

SoCal Sleeve 78 Posted February 15, 2014 I have been planning for the post - op diet also as my date is the 24th. I went and bought powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken broth, Unjury kiwi strawberry powders, propel Water, smart Water, Gatorade G2 just in case my blood sugar goes low, and Protein Ice drink which should last me the 1st month. I will pickup the sugar free Jello & popsicles the day before I go. But I'm a lil OCD. lol
Koofka 59 Posted February 16, 2014 Found the Isopure powders to be some of the best tasting Protein drink options out there. The Premier drink packs from costco were probably a close second. My lady also bought tons of other things like Propel, Mio, Crystal Light, and other things, but since I have always been a Water drinker, ended up leaving those untouched. My only stay away advice would be any Protein drinks with Vegan on the label. Most of the ones I tried tasted like trying to drink a dirty branch. Half convinced now Vegans are some sort of S&M cult. willjr4 15 Posted February 16, 2014 Lol at Koofka about the vegan S&m cult. I stocked up on Protein Drinks like zero carb lean body 40 gram per serving the Isopure zero carb 40 gram Protein juice unflavored Protein Powder isopure zero carb as well for the broths. And zero calorie Powerade.< /p>
BWaltD 87 Posted February 17, 2014 Post op I couldn't tolerate broth. Sooooo salty. Made me gag. I am 14 days post op now and still pretty much drinking the Protein Shakes.
tekjr1 22 Posted April 6, 2014 I'm 6 days post op and have been restricted to Clear Liquids since. My caloric intake has been less than 100 per day. Tomorrow am I'm allowed to start Protein Shakes. I didn't make it. I just finished a Protein Shake. Couldn't hold out any longer because of hunger pains. Anyone else at this point starting to experience hunger? SportCub 28 Posted April 7, 2014 A week of Clear Liquids post op is a new one for me but as everyone always says, every doc is different and always follow what your doc says! I am having my surgery tomorrow (YEAH!) and after discharge I will be on full liquids so I have stocked up on Protein powder, skim milk, Isopure (ready to drink clear Protein drinks), several kinds of broth, cream of Soups (I will have to thin them out with milk and strain out any bits), Greek yogurt (again I will have to thin out), sugar free Jello, etc. In addition to food items I have another shopping list for all of the non food stuff like chewable Vitamins, milk of magnesia, Miralax, gas x, etc. At least gathering all of this stuff keeps me occupied so I don't start dwelling on the big event tomorrow! cubbies76 132 Posted April 8, 2014 Most of your hunger hormone producer is gone, but your body still has some in it. I get ravenous if I haven't eaten in 18 hours. So basically, if I skip Breakfast, I'm ready to eat a cow, but then after 4-5 bites I'm all back to good. And the sleeve doesn't let me eat the cow 1 SurferDad reacted to this
