Im getting so nervous...ONLY for an Endoscopy I have to have on 19th January. As the surgeon asked why I was on omeprozole...I said heartburn as he knew already. But now wants me to have one to make sure I dont have a Hiatus Hernia...me and my big mouth! Haha...but Its always best to be truthful and honest to your Surgeon. I will be sedated but it still making my anxiety levels high..in turn Im taking more Propanolol!! I WISH they could do this while im under. Sigh...U guess I will grin and bare it for a few minutes! Anyone else had one before surgery.

Omg this was so me! I had mine yesterday and I'm a nurse so I know all the risks etc. I was freaking out and it was no big deal. It was so fast and I felt nothing. I was pretty loopy the rest if the day but I felt fine. You will do great!

This was me 2 days ago! I'm a nurse so sometimes i feel like I know too many of the things that could go wrong. I have bad heartburn too so I had my EGD yesterday. It was so quick and easy! I felt nothing and don't remember anything after they gave me the sedation. I was loopy all morning and felt fine. No issues at all. I feel silly now but I was just nervous like you. You will be just fine! :)

10.5 months out and 135 lbs lost. My before pic is on my profile! Started at 320 and now I'm at 185 (I should mention that I am 5'9). Started at a size 22-24 and now I'm fitting in 8's. I'd like to lose another 15 but the weight loss has come to a standstill. But I am not complaining, 135 lost in less than 11 months is more than I ever expected. I love my sleeve!

We started out around the same size

I'm 5'8 can I ask you about your workouts and is your skin an issue?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
