So it had been a while since I had posted anything down here. My surgery was on the 25th of February 2016.

I used to look like this:

56298404_316186092413281_3301176464308699136_n.jpg.52b1bf08ebf1c879c74576658e8758a2.jpg51097656_383201742443074_1781489461570306048_n.jpg.97ccbf6865fdcb4ab3253788572ee5e2.jpg

After three years, many things have changed.

I must admit I still fancy a bit of fast food, a beer, wine or a whisky from time to time, but I don't feel addicted to those like I used to. I eat healthier, I learnt to avoid stupid behaviour and I don't give a s*** anymore about what my family can tell me regarding the fact I now eat "like a bird" (at least I am not dying each time I climb up stairs).

I had a few throw backs health-wise that are non-weight related (started to have epileptic crisis) and I was scared the treatment would lead me back to a wrong path food-wise, but hopefully, it wasn't the case. I also was diagnosed with osteoroposis, but it hasn't been linked with my sleeve surgery (it's very uncommon amongst male patients, let alone 27years old ones), apparentely, it's more a lack of luck regarding my genes. Every blood test I have made indicates that I have a very healthy diet and that I lack of nothing but a bit of luck 😛

I still bike, walk and hike a lot, I had a small regain (two kilos) but in two years, I don't think it's that horrific.

Here is how I look recently:

If I can help answer any question, relieve a doubt or whatever I can do to be useful, don't hesitate to PM me or ask me something here.

Cheers from Belgium ;)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
